Wondering why falling stars don't make your wishes come true?
It's because the person whom you wished for was also wishing for another one.
Obviously, not you. Ouch.

Love is an untamed force. When we try to control it, it destroys us. When we try to imprison it, it enslaves us. When we try to understand it, it leaves us lost and confused.-Paulo Coelho, The Zahir.

Ilang araw na lang, Pasko na. Have you said sorry sa mga taong nasaktan mo?
Have you said thank you sa mga taong nag-aalaga at nagmamahal sa iyo?
I'll start with you. Advance Merry Christmas:)

Pedro in war with MILF:
Pedro: Surrender na mo!
MILF: Mu-surrender lang mi kung ma-spell nimo ang ceasefire!
Pedro: Padayun ang giyera! Dugmokon sila! Padalhan mo nakog chrysanthemum sa inyong lubong!
MILF: Spell chrysanthemum?!
Pedro: Ingon ko rose! Patay kung patay! Wala lay spellingay!

Masarap magmahal ng dalawa. Isa, mahalaga. Isa, pinapaasa. Pag wala ang isa, pwede sa isa. Pero what if mawala sila pareho? Hahanap ka pa ba? O haharapin mo na lang ang salitang, "Dapat pala tatlo sila." LOL.

Today, I realized that in the absence of presents and packages, the best Christmas gift you can give someone is still your yourself. So if you didn't get anything from me, don't worry because you're in for something better. Hope you had a meaningful Christmas day. Thank you for being a gift to me, and let's all continue being a gift to others.

Lady went into a car store and saw the most beautiful car and bent over to touch the upholstery when unexpectedly, nakautot siya. Trying to cover up, she asked:
Dong, pilay presyo ani?
Salesman: I'm sorry to say, kung nakautot ka paghikap pa lang gani, makaigit jud ka kung makadungog ka sa presyo.

I am what I am today because of the things that God has allowed me to experience and the people that He has blessed me with. Thank you for being an instrument of God's love and faithfulness in my life. Praying for you a blessed and fruitful 2011! God bless you always.

Sabi ng baboy sa lechonero:
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn but that's all right because I love the way it hurts.

Wala ug Tu-o

12 March 2011

Just a gentle reminder for me:

Wala is Bisaya for left because it has an "L" in it.

Tu-o is Bisaya for right because it has a "T" in it.

Check.

I love writing short posts.

Palm Reading

And there was Ma'am Lilia. I didn't know she was a palm reader until she proceeded to read mine. Setting aside the callouses in my right hand, her findings were the following:

1.) Mudato ko basta magpursige lang.
2.) Mu-asawa kog duwa ka beses.
3.) Dali lang mawala ang kwarta sa akong kamut. Dapat, kung manghatag man ug kwarta, ang wala ang gamitun.

Very surprising actually. But, deep inside, I can't help admitting there's a grain of truth in what she just said.

Gym

01 March 2011

I'm going to a gym now.

Actually, this is the first time I'm doing so. Still fresh from the hospital after my bout with dengue (it's been over a week now), I think I need this to gain back any loss in body mass. Muscles feel like they've shrunk a bit after endless hours in bed so I guess this is a good thing.

Looking back, I've actually been interested before in going to a gym. That was courtesy of Kit, who was an avid Fitness First "gymmer" (his self-coined word). He was trying to lose some unwanted baby fat and to attract possible boyfriends in the process (Fitness First, after all, is quite a popular place for gays. If you were straight, you would prefer going to Gold's Gym or somewhere else instead so as not to be "mislabeled"). I was intrigued by his newly found routine especially since he would ask me every now and then if his waist had gotten slimmer. It even came to a point when he invited everyone of us in the Casibang Compound to try the gym's facilities (where we were promptly greeted by a saleslady who asked us point blank when we were planning to enroll and pay).

But the interest sort of faded. It was a combination of factors, I presume. First, the cost was prohibitive and even Kit would lament at how much of his salary goes to paying Fitness First. Second, I saw no need for it. I wasn't eating any breakfast in Manila and my portions were small. I was in no way getting obese with my anorexic diet.

Then, this year, Sir Ramy, Tonton, and Rhab came along and I began saying, "Why not?" They've been working out in Dover Fitness Center, a no-frills gym in downtown Davao for over a month already. The fee was minimal and I had the benefit of going out with office mates instead of working out alone. Plus, the dengue episode really did make me insecure about my body image.

So off I went. If you were to ask me if I'll be sticking it out, then I would tell you , "I honestly don't know". But who even knows, right?

Now, how do I get those washboard abs? Hmmm...
